Lazaron is an active member of the Asia Pacific Cord Blood Bank Consortium (APCBBC) and subscribes to global best practices in this field. The APCBBC is the largest Cord Blood Banking Consortium in the world. Lazaron remains at the forefront of this service in Africa.

Our cryopreservation laboratory and storage facility is a newly built facility in Cape Town, Western Cape.
This secure storage facility complies with international standards for blood bank laboratories and has ISO accredited clean rooms. Accredited clean rooms are critical to the safe processing, storage and use of stem cells.
Our Laboratory is fitted with the modern security and monitoring features required to safeguard your family’s assets.
Our cryopreservation storage tanks are alarm activated and not dependant on the national power grid so not even a national blackout or repeated power failures could affect the integrity of our storage facility. .
As a proudly South African company with world class practices we ensure transport time to the Storage lab (within 24 hours) which maximizes cell viability and future benefit.
Our Promise
We independently test all blood samples with an outside pathology lab to ensure that the stem cells extracted are viable prior to storage.
We will not charge you for processing and storage in the unlikely event that your cells cannot be safely stored.

Lazaron is firstly and foremost a family stem cell bank. As such, the decision to store or not to store umbilical cord stem cells must remain a very personal and well-informed decision on the part of the parents.
We endeavour to keep this service affordable to patients, and we do not expect or require endorsement of our services by medical practitioners.
Lazaron will at all times endeavour to provide both patients and medical practitioners with well-balanced and up to date scientific information.

Lazaron is an online service providing quality without the high price tag.
Our contract is for 20 years – you may continue your storage contract with us after the initial 20 years by by paying the minimal annual storage fee.
Once your stem cells have been processed, our laboratory technician will contact you personally to advise the status of your storage. A certificate will also be sent to you for your records.
