LAZARON HEART CLINIC

Lazaron Heart Clinic opened during January 2006 at the Medical chambers of N1 City Hospital, in Goodwood. The Clinic provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular services. In addition, our Clinic focuses on the diagnosis, and management of heart failure, striving towards becoming a center of excellence, incorporating the latest diagnostics and therapeutics. This includes the application of stem cell therapy. Collaborative research in this field is currently planned with teams at the Universities of Stellenbosch and Cape Town (Cape Heart Centre).

    • vascular duplex-Doppler, incl assessment of intima-thickness
    • dobutamine stress echocardiography

  • Lungfunction testing: flow-volume loops, FEV1 etc
  • Sleep study: evaluation of obstructive sleep apnoea
  • Multi-slice computed tomography: non-invasive coronary angiography
  • Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging: evaluation of cardiac structure, function, inflammation, and scar tissue
  • Invasive angiography of the coronary arteries, and large blood vessels, with balloon-dilatation and insertion of endovascular stents when indicated
  • Insertion of cardiac pacemakers
  • Cardiac surgery: coronary bypass grafting, valve repair, valve replacement, congenital, etc
